New iOS/Android App from Layar and Pearson Offers Augmented Reality for Print Books
Augmented reality for print books is something we’ve seen a bit of already and we’re likely going to see a more of especially for certain user groups (e.g. children) topics, and genres.
Print textbook pages come to life with today’s launch of Pearson BouncePages
Now available on any mobile app store, this free app allows parents, teachers, and students to instantly launch interactive instructional content directly from a textbook page. The app was developed in collaboration with Layar.
By simply snapping a picture of a pre-tagged textbook page on a mobile device, students discover interactive content illustrating the concept being taught. Engaging and educational, the interactive content includes friendly characters, entertaining scenarios, and effective explanations of the material. These features personalize student learning and provide interactive tools that allow students to practice what they are learning.
